FJS wins (again)!
By Sid Choudhuri
The winners defended their titles from last year.
FJS, with Steven Yelle and some Kitten chick defended their title against Rubynet, with Callum McTavish and Clayton Snickerson. FJS were a bit worried, as they didn't let any posters create threads about Lisa, which Rubynet focussed on this year. However, Rubynet weren't able to catalyze this into any funny posts turning the tide back in FJS' favour. At one point one possibly humourous thread separated the sites – FJS gathered 45 comedy posts and Rubynet 44, however the gap widened as the Lisa drama unfolded.
The team from FJS was bolstered by Cat Avatar Guy who left Rubynet before the competition, adding several posts for FJS, sealing Rubynet's fate as completely unfunny.
The team that stood out in the mixed lizard class, Voonigger Multispaz/Juden, with Jack Voonigger and Patrick Mannix, also defended their title from last year as senior citizen lizards ending up with 0 posts rated funny or interesting, choosing to create laborious, repetitive threads about nuisance court cases and incorrect personal information found on Google.
The up and coming Spath/Hitler team of Tim Abreu and Gendarmes Doli, received the honourary Random Shitposter trophy, promising some competition for FJS next year.
The team of Tråp FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, with Melissa Ob and Ojai Stumple, ended up with 3 qualifying threads after several posts about sexuality and politics were dismissed as completely unnecessary non sequitors.
In the Single Poster category the strongest showing was by Ivan Perez, with Ken Post Jr. and the man from Niggertuck, Greg Neilson coming a close second and third. These three extended their lead from day one and ended up over 70 posts ahead of any other posters. A notable poster, Cody bushpigbushpigbushpigbushpigbushpigbushpigbushpigbushpig received the Try Hard ribbon in this category, attempting to suck up to everyone at one time or another.
The new combined post arrangements for the Herpetarium and main forum at Rubynet were originally well received by both lizards and experienced posters, but this was later found to be the fundamental flaw that destroyed Rubynet this year. Several new lizard posters, only allowed to create threads or post replies in the new Herpetarium on Rubynet were completely banned from FJS, proving that allowing quantity over quality simply won't work in this high stakes game.
Lizard posters brought down the funnyness of the Rubynet team several times and ultimately lost them the competition as over 120 posts were deemed completely unfunny. One lizard managed to leave the Herpetarim near the end of the competition and doomed Rubynet as his posts were deemed complete drivel. This poster, Asux, apologised, but was too late as Steven Yelle again reigned supreme as God Troll.
We would like to thank posters, mods, secret mods, and admin from both forums for this participatiing in this competition and welcome you all back to next year when we hope the posting climate will be just as it has been this year!
