I live in the south and her name is Madeline (line pronounciation, not lynn). Strangers usually ask us how to pronounce it and the majority of people still call her Madelyn. Even family members, who hear us call her Madeline and know that's how it's pronounced either accidentally or intentionally choose to mispronounce it. Currently I tend to just ignore it and figure eventually my daughter will eventually correct them if she cares to. What's the experience of other people with multiple pronounciation names/hard to pronounce names? What do you do/did your parents do?

I hate people call my name "Evan" instead of "Ivan", you should correct the people for their mistakes due to ignorance with common sense
