I remember a couple of christmases ago, dp and I were talking on icq and I mentioned how sad it was that the local orphanage didn't have any money left in the budget for their annual christmas play. well don't you know it he drove down there the next day with a santa suit and a trunk full of presents, and he spent the day talking and laughing with these kids and teaching them songs and reading them stories, and before he left he found new parents for at least a few of them and gave puppies to the rest. he's truely a titan, a god among men, the world needs a thousand more just like him.

he doesn't do it for the accolades though, he's probably mortified that I'm telling you all this. but you knew already, deep down you knew. everyone knows. the warmth of spirit he exudes with every breath is impossible to hide.

a couple of hundred years ago the great ak convened a moot with the other immortals in the forest of burzee and campaigned for dp to be granted the mantle of immortality based on how he'd changed the world for the good through unbridled selflessness. though there was a little dissent at first from the wind demon and the king of the knooks, the council eventually decided that what ak told them was true, this mortal dp was the single greatest man that had ever lived and it would be cruel to the rest of the world to deny him immortality.

another time dp set up an operation to provide free good to the impoverished children of sömbertown in east germany. he got tied up in a bunch of political nonsense, and for a while the man in charge of the town even had an arrest warrant for dp, but he eluded capture and everything turned out ok in the end

another time he was travelling the world with his friend hermie and they came across an island full of orphans with birth defects that just didn't fit in anywhere else. dp returned home and convinced his boss, the owner of a major shipping company, to personally invest his resources into finding permanent homes for everyone on the island.
