I'm programmed to think that I can troll you hard by bashing your healthcare system because bragging about it is canada's national pasttime. I like ron paul, but he's a bit of an extremist which is why he'll never win the presidency and he's almost hurting the cause by proving that a libertarian can't be president. I'd rather have Huntsman, still very libertarian but more of a moderate.

Pretty much. I'm not a fan of social security but of course I'd collect on it, I've been paying into the fucking thing practically my whole life. Also I'd have no problem with it if it was voluntary, my gripe isn't with government programs but with a bunch of asswipes in washington making my decisions for me.

If I pay for them I am entitled to them. When Obamacare kicks in and forces me to buy insurance, I'm going to use it. why the hell shouldn't I? In fact I may go to the doctor once every few days to try and bankrupt the system. Given the choice, though, I'd rather not be forced to buy something because some dickhole thinks it's in my best interest.

No, I'm arguing that I am an adult and perfectly capable of deciding for myself if I need health insurance. You choose to move to Canada because you apparently want a government that will wipe your ass for you and pat you on the back and tell you everything is going to be alright, and that's fine but I'd rather choose my own path in life, I stopped needing a parent to make decisions for me years ago.

They could, but they won't. Personally I'd like to see them cut 75% from the military, put 25% into paying off debt and give the other 50% back to us. A military a quarter the size of our current one is plenty big enough to defend our own borders, let the rest of the western hemisphere defend themselves for a change.

See I'll bet you were going to go on and compare that to healthy insurance but I just shut that misguided and overused argument down didn't I

I did, because I'd been paying into it for 10 years. If I hadn't been paying into it I would have had enough savings that I wouldn't have needed unemployment. It made it a lot easier for me to sit on my ass for a few months of extended vacation instead of immediately looking for a job, further proof that programs like this essentially turn us all into Stevey.

It's good once the people are integrated, it improves the host nation's culture in a way that's almost like genetic, the good practices stick around the shitty ones get phased out. It's rough in the short term, though, a bunch of immigrants moving into an area makes it really difficult for people to get along especially if they don't speak the same language.

They're not the same thing. Auto insurance exists to protect an anonymous stranger who I might hurt due to negligence. Health insurance exists to protect me, I'm the only one who is affected so it should be my choice if I need it or not. Also, it's not a mandate, it's a condition of being allowed to drive on public roads. I have the option of not paying auto insurance. This is a stupid argument, stop it you're better than this.

m0nde
08-07-2012, 03:04 PM
they're both insurance. they are both now mandated. they happen to be insurance for different things, but that's immaterial in the bigger picture.
you seem to think you and some guy who you could hurt (read health bills as well as fixing up the car) having a probable accident is somehow vastly different from a probable trip to the hospital potentially costing you thousands of dollars.
they're the same thing, just slightly different circumstances. just because one involves two parties is again immaterial, they both protect against things which could happen in the future, but aren't guaranteed to happen.

m0nde
08-07-2012, 03:05 PM
in some states they have no-fault insurance. this then makes each person pay for their own problems. this is even closer to the health insurance model.

my main point is about being mandated to pay for something. why are you for one mandate, when you're against the other? if you hit someone why not leave it up to the courts to have you claim damages from the other person if you believe they're at fault?

depends on what congress looks like under his administration. also, I think he has a solid chance. lots of liberals are disenfranchised with obama, and a lot of moderates are really upset about obamacare. it's going to be a close one.

romney might have been able to win if he had campaigned as more of a moderate republican like when he was gov of MA

instead he went full on right wing crazy and anti gay trying to rile up the "base" but the republican base is not being replenished as quickly as the old farts are dying off because of their ridiculous social conservatism

either way the guy has zero integrity and would do anything to get a vote. It irritates me that McCain took the same approach as Romney in 08 even though he has traditionally been more moderate and has voted against his party many times. At least McCain is a man with some guts and integrity, if he had campaigned as a moderate I may have voted for him (he still would have lost to the Obama hype machine though). I don't think I could ever vote for Romney after seeing how much he has flipped all of his supposed values from his time as governor of Massachusetts and his refusal to release his tax information, Bain capital scandal, etc. I just don't think he has any sense of ethics.

bush got 2 terms with the same exact tactics. karl rove is running things again, he wasn't involved with mccain's campaign, that guy's like satan incarnate but he's effective.

people here are surprisingly against welfare - at least the people i've spoken to.
despite the social programs in place, people don't like seeing people leeching off the government and not working
not making any attempt at fixing their own situation

i think that's universal

also, stevey has no basis for immigration to canada, it's very unlikely that he'll be allowed unless he marries someone here.
from what I've heard from some Canadian friends the current conservative government is trying to repeal a lot of the social welfare programs

dont know how much truth there is in that, won't pretend that I actively follow Canadian politics

i can't say i'm not happy about it. but they'll never do away with the healthcare programs because that's common to any country, as i've said, even third world shitholes.

The US is a 3rd world shit hole and it doesn't have a national health care system. Obamacare merely penalizes (potentially criminally) its citizens that can't afford what will be jacked up rates due to collusion just like auto insurance was when it was first mandated, if they fail to buy into a broken and corrupt system.

1st world, 2nd world and 3rd world are concepts during Cold war, it has nothing to relate with economy and human development, i know only the stupid people call 1st world and 3rd to people is an insult without justification, you should to call "Mature Economy" or perhaps "Developed Country"

Just because the US sends more dollars per capita than any other country doesn't mean it is healthier or its people have access to healthcare. 45-50 million people do not have healthcare so a higher percentage of Americans die due to inadequate healthcare than Brits or Europeans.

Just because the rich in America have better health care than the rich anywhere else in the world that bumps up a healthcare index doesn't mean it is better for the country's whole population. You need to take your own advice and stop idioting yourself with shame by taking statistics at face value and not understanding how averages get skewed.

Please don't use my catch phrase, it's copyrighted, except my friends can use my catch phrase without copyright infrigement, literally you aren't my friend

Catchphrase and copyright aren't the correct words in this context. You must have meant mantra or ethos. You need to brush up on your English skills.

I was merely quoting Cameron so go baw to him about stealing it.

ethos = ethic

mantra = mental focus?

what the fuck are you talking about?

A fat and deaf Mexican who frequents a troll site where he is not wanted and cannot speak the forum's language fluently.this is exactly the case
except he is tolerated because he's incredibly awkward and says the most outrageous shit
he's also very easy to rage out and stir to do all sorts of crazy bullshit like creating that gush site, etc.

he doesn't realize that he looks like a total psychotic freak when he does this stuff
but i think he's never experienced anything else other than the life of a spaz since he's a deaf shut in
