You'll be mentally addicted by that third day. Long time opiate users will tell you that if you haven't used opiates in a long time (or if you've never used opiates), you need to build your 'taste' for them back up with a few smaller doses before you can start fully appreciating it again

i'd say smoking pot takes a lot of effort (having to store weed somewhere it won't stink, having to pack a pipe or roll a joint, having to smoke some place other people won't see/smell).
Getting high takes work and effort.
Doing opiates is so much simpler; just keep your pills in an empty tylenol bottle and pop one whenever you feel like it, even in public. Wait 5-30 minutes, enjoy

when I had my kidney stone I was in misery and snorting 500mg oxycodone two at a time. it didn't make me euphoric, it didn't even dull the pain all that much. the only relief I got was from valium, one tiny pill and I was good to go. opium simply does not work on everyone the same as it does on you. we all have different chemistries, and it just so happens weed (and acid, and cocaine, and benzos) is what does it for me.
