Which is exactly why Geto Boys had such a large cultural impact on west-coast hip hop, right?

That's basically like saying Dilated Peoples never made an impact either.

influence on others in the industry != exposure to the general public

nudeswirl, melvins, kyuss, there's a ton of multiplatinum bands who would list them in their top 5 influences, I'll bet you don't know any of their lyrics though.

nirvana had like 5 #1 hits, geto boys hit the charts once at #23. apples and oranges. geto boys is a footnote in scarface's career, nothing more.

I'm pretty sure all three of those bands are alternative rock (which I don't listen too).

The reason I brought it up with Lisa, is because she supposedly is supposed to be into rap (or apparently Eminem).

I didn't bring that up for exactly no reason whatsoever. If it's a genre you like, then a constructive debate is reasonable. If I however just randomly posted that video and said "NONE U KNOW BOUT THIS", then yeah, you might have an constructive argument.

Scarface exists today because of Geto Boys

Dave Grohl exists today because of Nirvana

Obviously comparing the level of influence and social impact between Geto Boys and Nirvana is silly...

The lead singer blew his face up with a shotgun.

....then he did the Headless Boogie.

lisa doesn't know anything outside of eminem, for the purposes of this discussion she might as well be the general public. I know a fuckton about music, so of course I've heard of the geto boys, I don't expect anyone else to know them though.

and while we're on the subject, rap begins and ends with nas

I'm surprised you didn't fit Kanye West somewhere in that theory.

Fuck, I might as well go ahead and say Boyz II Men were the greatest old-school rappers alive if we're on the subject of switching up and confusing styles and sub-genres.
