The order which comments are displayed now isnt determined by any one thing, its just rigged so that it appears that people are actually using google plus, they've shamelessly resorted to every shady business tactic there is, and all from a company whose corporate philosophy was 'don't be evil'.. something is scaring her from joining the real world again, and if its a fear that her past reputation (whatever she did that ended her career as a teacher, i'm guessing) is going to follow her so that any would-be employers might see it, but she needs to realize that if she keeps isolating away, what her reputation ends up being is going to be a wasted concern for her to have because she'll just isolate away into old age and never reconnect
