and offering me 100 dollars if i do that, tahts like 1 week of lisas dole money :hmm: maybe i should get it and then cut the card up so i just made free money

I've had and paid off 2 credit cards in my time

I don;t use one any more I use a debit Mastercard

the $100 they're offering you is a free credit on the card itself. the expectation is that you'll use the card for something more expensive than that to save $100 on the price of it

credit cards aren't evil barry and you're probably better off with one from your bank than from some card company you have no transaction history with

credit cards are necessary to rent cars and book accommodations, just pay your balance in full every month (never late). This will build a credit history for your future needs. Getting a card from your bank is sound advice.

I still get offered credit cards, that goes on your credit rating and mine is fine simply because I do not owe any money

You can use a debit card exactly the same as a credit card you half-wit the only difference is you use YOUR OWN MONEY and not borrow it and have to pay interest. And so when I paid off my last credit card I closed it and got a debit card.

My mom buys all my stuff for me

my credit card got raised to $750 a few months ago from $500 because I'm good with my money

but it's a crappy one I'm gonna get a discover card with the points and cash back whatever stuff in a few more months
