pretty much all of russia's neighbors are former soviet states who did badly under soviet rule and fear putin trying to annex them again. the us will have no trouble finding a place to land its planes during a hypothetical russian invasion. on the other hand, the us only has two neighbors and they're friendly with both of them,russia would have to come across the pacific or down alaska through a hostile canada. the us also has a bigger nuclear arsenal. the us also has more advanced technology. the us has bases everywhere. the us has powerful allies across the world. this isn't about nationalism, it's about reality. if america and russia went to war tomorrow america would win.
it's a moot point anyway because if the us and russia went all out it would end all civilization worldwide there's not really a winner in that scenario
