I just talked to his sister Nicole on steam, he's in intensive care. He was out for a walk yesterday and got attacked by a drop bear. He's going to live, but his nose was almost completely torn off (it's been reattached) and he still might lose his left eye. He is responding well to the antivenom (australian drop bears have a powerful decoagulant in their saliva, 30% of deaths are from this venom not the injuries themselves). She said it was touch and go for a few hours but the doctors did everything they could and he's awake and lucid though it's hard to talk with all the tubes in his throat. She said he got really lucky, drop bears usually go for the neck and kill in less than a minute, the theory is the one who attacked him is a yearling and hasn't really figured hunting out yet.
Lets all keep him in our thoughts and prayers
