My friend used to work with them; one time I went over to where he worked, and the one would run up to you and sit down by your legs expecting to get pet, like a dog, it was fucking insane

I have this theory that their parents basically neglected them during a pivotal period of child development, during which they missed out on key aspects of sociological development, after which that learning can never be retained.

Basically, they never receive true parenting, and become big dumb children that the parents do not know how to handle; the parents are likely detached from reality themselves, and are unable to rear a child much as they are unable to rear themselves. Sociological interactions have become formulaic in the mind of the parents (for whatever reason), and they are unable to provide a child with bottom-up social skills.

repetition in autism results from the child having to reinforce his/her own learning. He/she has to keep doing the same thing repeatedly to replay it in his/her mind for it to make sense in relation to other people.

good thing I spent years with my nose dug in century-old books on psychology and have an exorbitant amount of knowledge on neurocognitive psychology (from years of psychoactive drug use), and psychological mechanics (even sociological ones) are survivalistically intuitive for me.
Sorry the solution had to be so apparent and sort of "in your face" to the parents of autistic children
