For example, "mental telepathy" could exist using electromagnetic radiation at certain frequencies as a medium in the same way receptors in the eye detect light.
It could be that the eye simply detects frequencies requiring external interaction - within the nervous system however could exist special receptors or perhaps a series of specialized pathways which detect other frequencies in the electromagnetic spectrum.
As one might imagine, the notion of "mental telepathy" would be dismissed almost immediately by those who would be in a position to investigate or verify its existence.
If it exists, sensory input in that manner would likely be very subtle, subjective, and qualitative - although it could perhaps yield highly accurate information - but as a qualitative assessment of a whole, and its accuracy might be only as accurate as such input is capable of being. However, one would suspect the potential of the information and volume of the information would be greater.
