Have you ever had the thought "what happens when i go to heaven; who will be there to greet me at the gates?" Would the thought of meeting your relatives terrify you? Knowing what you've become?
You might then assume "I will not go to such a place; I will elect my own fantasy world" which is the lake of fire.
