I made some soup, and I'm eating it.

It's chicken dumpling soup.
I'm not really much of a soup guy, to be honest. I really like stew a lot more.

Yeah, but the base is more of a chicken stock that's pretty thin.
When I think of stew I think thick base, not thin.

adding a little corn starch to the stock will thicken it up a bit more for ya, then simmer like 20 min
