This brings me to the conclusion - WHY?
Why would they do that? Is there really some dark force in the universe that rewards you if you do something in return? What if it's all the other way around. They're not rich and powerful occultists. They are occultists who became rich and powerful because of their devotion to their Dark God.
What if it really works? What if it's all truth? Sooner or later more information will emerge and people out of boredom, curiosity or greed will try to do something similar.
"If they can do that that I can give it a try too" some will say. There is little to no shame. After all our leaders and celebrities do the same.
What if there really is something out there and it will listen? Moloch Cults will pop all around the globe, always in small numbers but this time - for the first time in history - not among the elite. Normal people, working class, "us". They will try to grab a slice of whatever there is to grab.
What if it's going to work? What if some blue collar notices that after the rituals his life has changed? It's easier to succeed where before he could not. It will only go more and more global.
Our "formal" Gods are not listening, maybe we were praying to the wrong being all along.
Maybe the elite knows who to pray to. Maybe that's why they're the Elite in the first place?
I know I'm probably overthinking but who knows. Latest events sure had an effect on me. Before I would never even visit this subreddit, or many other websites I've been browsing today out of curiosity...
