pretty much anything you eat anyways is genetically modified because we've been breeding it for human consumption for the past 5000 years..
Pretty much any kind of fruit or vegetables has been breed for higher yields. I think bananas in particular used to look like shit and were thin as fuck before people started breeding them.
and ever since incidents like genetically modified killer bees happened, the government gained respect for what genetic modification is capable of and theyve got it on pretty good lockdown, so no need to worry about a weird mutated cancer potato suddenly growing tentacles and taking over the planet or anything
maize/corn also has been massively transformed
