I have an AD domain at home I barely touch it at work we have too many different networks it wouldn't be manageable

single sign on from any machine in the house, roaming profiles so all of my documents and settings are the same regardless of where I sign in from, exchange requires it, I can attach other services to it (like my web server) so I only have one password for everything on my network, I can control all of my machines automatically with group policy... there's about a thousand reasons to use it, if you're not then you are missing out on 80% of what's good about microsoft
if you had a domain you could set up a group policy that automatically installs second life and the little mermaid theme on every computer you ever join to it. you bring it home, join it to the domain, and everything else is done for you.
that's more complicated than dashlane and google drive though
well I don't even use google drive I don't save shit because I don't care about a single thing on my hard drive all I really need is dashlane
