Irwin confirmed she is dating American wakeboarder Chandler Powell, 18, after the two met while working on her "Wildlife Warriors" conservation campaign, for which Powell serves as a global ambassador. Despite their long-distance romance, the two stay connected through Snapchat and Skype.
"I feel lucky to have him in my life," she said.
Irwin also spoke about how living in rural Queensland, Australia, has helped her live a normal, quiet life despite being in the constant celebrity spotlight.
"Growing up where I have has been a great factor. I live in a town called Beerwah, right in the middle of Australia Zoo," she said. "It's not hustle and bustle and busy, so that's helpful. We travel all over the world, but I've always been able to come home and run around in the middle of the Australian outback."
