I blame grammar school and uplifting children's programming. we tell these kids they can be anything they want to be and to follow their dreams so a bunch of them decide they'd like to draw pretty pictures all day and $100,000 later they're flipping burgers.
why, i dont have to play society's stupid little games of "see who can accumulate the most monopoly money and plastic shit"; i am perfectly content with just being able to get high.
At the end of the day you still have to eat the same food that everyone else is eating essentially, you still have to shit in a toilet, and you still have to sleep in the same kind of bed everyone else has to sleep in more or less. Money and power are illusions. A feeling of security is alright and nice to have, so just manage your money well
or you can work your ass off for 15 years for measily little perks like a better parking spot and your own office
its not like the good old days when money and power meant you could purchase hot women and keep them as livestock, and the alternative to being rich and powerful was living as a peasant with a 30 year life expectancy
you can still do that in the middle east
