You aren't serious about self defense if you have anything other than a semi automatic concealed pistol with the safety off. Rifles are for hunting and long range combat. Machine guns look cool but can jam and aren't practical. It's also easier to knock a rifle out of someone's hands compared to a small handgun. Six shooters look cool but you only get 6 shots and takes forever to reload. A glock is probably the best choice for personal self defense.
