i applied through a staffing agency that I was actually already registered with (without realizing it, craigslist ad lol) and they got me an interview. I had the interview, thought it went ok, then a few days later I was called up by the staffing agency and they offered me the job last night. I was so fraking happy. I was looking at apartments to relocate and getting all prepared, finally ready to stop struggling, and then the staffing agency emailed me this morning and said the offer was rescinded because the company found someone more experienced. They were really sorry, blah blah, didnt anticipate finding someone of this caliber.

microsoft offers trial copies of almost all of its enterprise software suites, including its server OS's, and you have a machine which I assume is capable of running virtualbox so you really already have everything you need. I got my current job because at the interview I could tell them about the datacenter in my bedroom I built for fun
