Americorps is a a great organization that helps people get internships and job training programs while at the same time allowing them to earn money for education.

That "school bullshit" isn't something they make you do, Stevey.
If you do an Americorps term and perform accompanying community service, you receive money you can use for educational pursuits.
If you do a 1600 hour americorps term, which is a yearlong program, and then do 36 hours of community service during that year, you will get $2600.
This money can go towards students loans, be used to pay for classes, or is even accepted for other non-collegiate programs.
For instance NOLS, the National Outdoor Leadership School and their medical division WMI will accept Americorp scholarship money.
Also, many SCUBA schools and some skydiving schools will accept that money as well.
