it's not hard to use, it's just shit. you shouldn't need to run an antivirus in the background all the time, you shouldn't have to defragment your hard drive, you shouldn't have a 'I'm going to shut down in 10 minutes for updates unless you tell me to postpone it for a couple of hours" dialog. no other modern OS requires this kind of babysitting.

wine exists so you can run windows applications under *nix but it's flaky and complicated and incredibly slow.
