in northern minnesota/wisconsin there is a 2 week growing window - once in fall, once in spring. If you don't find any during that time frame, you're shit out of luck and have to find some in a different state

not everyone lives in northern minnesota, even in CT they're pretty common it's just that most people don't know what to look for (including me, I've never been mushroom hunting)
