Pointing me in the wrong direction.

I swear it'll be the death of me.
Is it ever ok to focus on my own problems?
Or is helping others the only way to solve them?
Should I just sit still and let God do the work?
Or would that be considered lazy, a lack of effort?

What's the meaning, the rhyme or reason?
Don't sweat the small stuff,
but is it all small?
Shouldn't I be focusing on the rise and the fall?
Where the hell are we headed?
Has the storm passed yet?
Am I wasting my time,
am I using my assets?

I feel like a lab rat in a clinical trial.
Am I ever really happy or is it a cynical smile?
Digital denial, do numbers even matter?
However many steps, you still gotta climb the ladder.
Are my dreams shattered?
What am I even after?
Do the good die young?
Will I get there faster?
Maybe it's based on the moment you decide,
fully good or fully evil, and that's when you die.
Is being agnostic keeping us alive?
I wouldn't deem myself as such.
Maybe I dream too much,
They say I just need to fuck.
But is that really the secret peace?
Or just a fleeting release?
That leads to more problems at the end of the street?
