I note that, in this show, every time someone calls on God, terrible shit happens. Rick is in a church, prays to God, asks Jesus for some help... and then Carl gets shot. T-Dog admits to his trust in God... and goes out to the Walkers.

Seems to me that atheism is the way to go in the Risen Dead world... of course, as near as we can tell, maybe this is set in the actual days of Armageddon, and the virtuous and saved have already all been taken up to heaven, and now the Meek have inherited the Earth.
