    right, there is no appreciable gain in germs in the paper simply because it's in a bathroom

    so here's how sanitation works
    - touch waste or surfaces coated in live, infectious bacteria from waste
    - use soap and water to transfer most of the germs from hand to wastewater
    - use paper towel to absorb remaining water from hands
    * oops, paper towel has bacterial spores. possibly even live bacteria.
    - moistened paper towel from water on hands is more absorbent than skin, so any outstanding bacteria are transferred to the wet paper, not the reverse
