you have to fight through 62 difficult waves of monsters just to get to him, i.e. 2 grueling fucking hours of sitting on the edge of your seat, doing everything as perfect as possible

the final fight with jad basically consists of you having to alternate between the prayers "Protection from ranged" and "protection from magic" depending on what attack Jad is about to do, but the game is so fucking laggy that there's a good 1-2 second delay between when you click on a prayer and when it actually activates, and the lag is even worse because Jagex recently cut the bandwith of all their servers in order to save money

if you don't have the right protection prayer on, he kills you in 1 hit

and to make matters worse, all the supplies you need for the fight cost like 400k-1000k

the 400k for supplies takes about an hour and a half to get, plus the half hour where you are just prepping and getting all the right gear, potions, etc
The 62 waves take about an hour and a half to two hours,
so its 4 hours of prepping total just to fuck it up in a few seconds

the only way to beat him is to keep running through the waves and wiping on him over and over, until one time you "get lucky" and have all your protection prayers go up in time

the reward for killing him is the "fire cape", aka the coolest looking item in runescape, because the cape is animated with lava flowing down it (oo0o0o0o0o) and it gives a +4 strength bonus, the only cape in runescape that gives a strength bonus
