my point is 60k per year is peanuts for anyone except some blue collar worker or a beginning engineer or whatever

m0nde I am nots ure where you are going with this. even in Canada 60 grand a year is way way way above poverty level (statistics canada reports 21,666 in 2007, 2012 US poverty level is 23,050). I am sure 60 grand doesnt go very far in a big city like it would where i live, but keep in mind I was talking about unskilled, uneducated factory workers.
