    a straight razor does work the best, but you have to sharpen and strop them. a lot of people dont know how to maintain a hollow ground blade, it goes dull, and they cant get it back

    My grandpa had this really cool automatic stropping machine for the original single bladed "safety" razors that flipped the blade ever 5 revolutions or so



    similar to this but the leather wheel was fully exposed so i guess it was an older model
