Greg spake:
>>(Short aside - enough nit-picking over user names, ya know? What difference does it really make? Plus obviously, even a 'real name' could be false)>>
That comment of Greg's was the basis for this thread. I found it such a breath of fresh air in the middle of that rather stuffy attitude.
Kelly got the full brunt of that BS frankly, and its a very unfriendly way to introduce anyone to the pleasures of comicon, to which the response ultimately is.. "ok new guy gets a break"....
Who's attitude really sucks here Rick? Mine because I have the guts to call a spade a spade? If anyone's attitude is going to create a "negative" first impression its attitudes like Don Markstein's IMHO.
Its hypocritical Rick, to put folks like Buck and Fanboy and me on notice the minute someone starts to whine "what'll you do about those Gutter Boys" (a term Don COINED by the way) theyre RUINING it for everyone with their foul mouths and their bad manners" yet look how Kelly got walked all over WITHOUT provocation JUST based on his name, during which the opportunity was then taken for Kelly's "slight" to criticise him for posting something that was "so easily available elsewhere". And you have yet to comment on THAT Mr Veitch, other than to weakly say, "well some of us dress for the party"...well SIR here's the party.
Having to justify your screenname to be "listened to" or "respected" on this board is just "web prejudice".
Greg, thanks for your thoughtful post.
