"Windows 8 is oversimplified" is a stupid argument. If anything it's more complicated. If you're in the desktop, you have to move your mouse to a special hidden corner to bring up the control panel or shut it down. There's no button, no sign, you're supposed to just know that. One of the main reasons I recommend my customers avoid Windows 8 is because I don't want to bill them a million hours when they're calling me asking how the fuck to do anything. It's not dumbed down, it's not intuitive, it's change for the sake of change it's clunky and it's shit. Plug Drugs knows Win 8 sucks, but he's ass-backwards on the "why?" and he looks like a jackass right now.
It's over-simplified in the fact that it was designed for a touch-mouse duality, and the nature of a touch device is generally to simplify things
