The hardware you picked out is fine. You could easily get away with hardware from 2011, and depending on what CPU features second life takes advantage of you might not notice much difference, but the idea that hardware from 2011 is 'faster' is absurd plug drugs doesn't know shit about anything but he likes to talk like he does on every single subject ever.

is a 2013 i7 that much faster that it's worth twice as much? probably not, but it's sure as fuck faster.
