i use the small speaker icon, in the bottom bar, yep i click it then set the volume, in windows 7 and above u can set the volume to different apps, so let's say u have vlc playing some tranny porn and u are too dumb to block autoplays at rubynet, well u can mute chrome, and still listen to your tranny porn
