why can I still hear things when windows volume is at 0

I'm still amazed at how fast it is, the boot time is unreal, I turn my pc on and it's at the desktop, the bios splash screen thing shows longer than the windows loading thing dead serious

the boot time on my mac is literally like 1 second.
