    you don't really need more than 8gb ram these days but if you want your want your computer to still be able to keep up in a few years time then 16gb is good, I have no idea what you'd need 64gb ram for a home computer for, you wouldn't even use it

    jon writes code for several different platforms so he's going to be using either emulators or VMs, in addition to a big heavy development suite. also ram is dirt cheap you might as well max out your board so you don't have to upgrade later.

    stop assuming nobody uses their computers for anything more than browsing rubynet and talking on msn

    yeah i know basically its just a good deal as 2 sticks instead of 1, it's the price point that i look for, to tell me where most of the sales volume is

    by swimming with the stream i am statistically more likely to get a product that passed Q/A with flying colors

    so i trade some money in exchange for saving my personal time, which is more valuable; i can always earn more money, but you can't earn a longer life; you can only sit around and hope someone else solves that problem for you; like that they make a machine that eats poor people and shits stem cells, or whatever
