Basically, they never receive true parenting, and become big dumb children that the parents do not know how to handle; the parents are likely detached from reality themselves, and are unable to rear a child much as they are unable to rear themselves. Sociological interactions have become formulaic in the mind of the parents (for whatever reason), and they are unable to provide a child with bottom-up social skills.

repetition in autism results from the child having to reinforce his/her own learning. He/she has to keep doing the same thing repeatedly to replay it in his/her mind for it to make sense in relation to other people.
