I've got this theory that Lucifer was the first angel God created, basically because God was lonely, and being the first angel he was mistakenly given a lot of powers. God gave him his own sandbox universe to play around in - that universe became Hell, as it was separated from the absolute righteousness of God.. Then I think God eventually revoked Lucifer's permittance of a sandbox universe, so Lucifer was mad about that and started a war in Heaven. But he did not, and could not, wield the flame imperishable, as God is above and beyond Lucifer in ways Lucifer can not comprehend. So you know it, I know it, Lucifer got his butt kicked and now he's on a big time-out down on Earth - where he tempts the minds of mortal men.

So the story goes anyways.. Read the book of Enoch sometime, I think it explains it in there
