no you don't. you pay half as much but you sacrifice 5-10% of performance and 40% longevity.
unless you're trying to build a server. unless you're trying to build a specialized office machine which is a pain in the balls to configure. Unless you're trying to build anything that isn't a gaming pc or a home desktop, pretty much. You don't have any sort of experience other than your dinky little home setup so stop pretending that what works for you is applicable in every scenario. Shut the fuck up.

I maintain a server which runs at 80% utilization 24/7 and has been doing so for 15 years. It's able to do that because it runs a Xeon. Remember when I said "You don't have any sort of experience other than your dinky little home setup so stop pretending that what works for you is applicable in every scenario."? And then I told you to shut the fuck up? Remember that? Do it.
No, and in fact AMD would be fine for him. You're not just talking about tim, though, you're all 'DURR INTEL IS STUPID CUZ IT COSTS MORE THERES NO REASON TO EVER BUY INTEL' you sound like an asswipe and you're wrong.

"My Kia is still running fine after 40,000 miles so clearly the federal government should use Kias for its mail trucks because specialized vehicles cost more"
