i work with people trying to get their ged. it's very hard. you have to actually have discipline. you take a 5 hour test over 2 days and the study is mostly on your own. i tell them to fuck getting a ged and get them some free upgrading classes at a community college or try to get them into apprenticeship or sometihng if i can find funding for them.

you sat through that test? most of the people i deal with can't do it. in the 2 yrs i've done this, i've had maybe 5 people actually finish the ged. most quit and i find some other program for them. usually it's better because as an adult community colleges don't give a shit if you have high school equivalency or not. stevey isn't stupid and if he put his mind to it he could do some 2 year shit course at community college in something that would be enough to get him into the worlforce and living in RI which is a massive welfare state, he could easily find funding somehwere.
