here is something interesting regarding t-mobile's 'hotspot' : you don't really need to pay extra for it. you can tether your phone and use it as a wifi access point as normal. at some point you'll have run out of the free data-via-tether usage and they'll beg you to pay for their 'hotspot' bullshit. nope, just open up tor and continue using the net as normal. only ports 80/443 are gonna give you the nag screen. if you don't have wifi on your phone they make it seem like it cant even be tethered. set up a bluetooth modem on your comp, find the device, then set up dial up networing and call *99#.
