You cannot use propane to warm the inside of your van, if you don't need a book to tell you not to die then don't die by killing yourself by trying to use propane in a small enclosed (even sealed) area to heat yourself.

You need one of those heavy duty sleeping bags, and also to not be living in a van during winter.
