it isn't socially acceptable yet, but i think it should be. i envision a world where hipsters and scene faggots realize it's no big deal to see one, so it's no big deal to carry one, and it might actually make a good fashion accessory. they just need to determine that its ironic enough and they'll start doing it. you'll see derringers and lots of engraved revolvers and relic/curio/fantasy steampunk shit that isn't even loaded and maybe not even functional, but that isn't important, what's important is that perception changed.
