So I downloaded the windows 10 upgrade advisor (still free to upgrade if you lie about being handicapped) let it download and after the first reboot jumped in BIOS and changed it to RAID mode. After install it boots and runs just fine, no problems with active directory, it's even activated even though my copy of 7 was using an activation hack. next step is disable all the windows 10 bullshit then build my RAID and clone my volumes over to it.
