Nintendo wasn't even trying with these ones. The art team managed to design one cool looking Pokemon for each games cover art to lure you into buying it. The rest are god awful, some even look like the design team forgot to color in the Pokemon before passing it off to the next person's desk:

The game adds absolutely nothing new to the gameplay of previous Pokemon games except for a 2v2 feature that doesn't do anything innovative with itself other than allowing 2 Pokemon to fight 2 other Pokemon at the same time..
Being on the gameboy advance, you'd expect it to excel in some way, but the graphics are just as shitty as Pokemon silver and gold, which are by far the better games.

The NPCs have nothing to say, and giant halls of NPCs that don't do anything leave the game feeling barely finished and rushed.
Also, instead of a defeated NPC letting you have the option of whether or not you want their phone number like in silver/gold, in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald the game forces you to add their number, causing them to constantly pester you with little or nothing to say. Absolutely annoying.
