You don't understand the insanity of trust trading Elz; simply because the 'board is moving' and it would be hypothetically easier now in the future for Disney to convince the world that they own the songs played in the movie Fantasia, because they managed to possibly erase one of the song's history, they begin swapping money, deals, trust ownerships, etc..

The song was composed by a German composer, and in German was called "Der Zauberlehrling".. but if Der Zauberlehrling ends up being some different song and a copyright office worker glances over it because they only bothered to check YouTube (which isn't how people think anymore anyways because the internet is dead/dying) and let Disney then 'own' the song, theyll make a fuck ton of money for requiring tribute to be able to play it, or cross promotion like it's use in a car ad around the same time as a Fantasia rerelease, and also strengthening their ownership of Fantasia (which an argument could be made that it would become public domain if enough of its content consists of public domain material)

I highly doubt someone did it just for the thrill of watching the aftermath; someone paid pianists to show up and play a nonsense series of notes on different grand pianos, then label the song "Der Zauberlehrling" in different videos
Just so that the public knowledge of "Der Zauberlehrling" might some day change to no longer be the same song a in Fantasia.Last edited by Plug Drugs; 04-16-2018 at 02:51 AM.

$10-15 million if they gain ownership of Der Zauberlehrling and can charge for its use on radio and on TV etc,
And 1 billion if it stops the movie Fantasia from some day becoming public domain

A rerelease of Fantasia every 15 years generates like 150-400 million for Disney each time they do it.
