So instead of accented characters change the spelling to how its pronounced and do away with borrowed words using silenced letters?

My point is though that if we taught accented letters to be pronounced a certain way we could stop deviations from pronounciation that we get with the flexibility forced upon a limited number of letters

Adjacent for example is supposed to be said ad-jay-sent despite simply being ad-ja-sent. This could be fixed by an accent i.e. adjàcent
