this is probably your best course of action lily. let marks delete everything and reinstall from scratch. then just run a vanilla vbulletin install.
the trick is fixing gd/imagemagick or recaptcha and the cookies and stopping spammers from taking over. i think the most important stuff i did was fixing .htaccess, ssl cert, and zone file.
