oh no, I wouldnt tell anyone to spend money upgrading, but if I wasd buying a new computer like from a compansy like HP orr hwtaever and they let me pick between 7 or 8, or if I got 8 for free (which I did), I would definitely go with 8. but im not going to tell anyone to spend money on it to upgrade, jesus i have literally never bought an Operating System in my life anyways but windows 8 basically is just a filler between 7 and 9, (7 of 9.. lol, get it Cag?) but if were arguing about which is better, il take windows 8 over 7

my windows 8 is still running flawlessly, my bios startup thingy actually stays on the screen longer than the windows loading logo, and all my programs all start instantly too

I haven't done a single thing to optimize it either, it just comes perfect by default

that's all I ever did either, but now it takes longer (hover in the lower right, click 'search', pick either app or setting). start menu or no start menu, the interface is shit, it puts more degrees of separation between me and what I want to do. even if I put an address bar in the taskbar and use that instead, half of my programs cover the taskbar and the 'lock the taskbar' button doesn't prevent that, because everything is supposed to run fullscreen in windows 8 which is a fucking stupid idea in itself, but the point is I am (at very least) one click further away from whatever I want than I was in win 7.
