I tell you another thing, it's a lot of hard work
for any given unit you creat you may need to create many different versions of it to aim at many different levels of students... even within the same class the abilities of your students can range enormously and it's your job to get that unit accross to all of them, especially in primary school, I have had to create 3 different versions of the same unit to teach to one class as the students within that class were at such different levels of development
like who have you always imagined created the work your teacher gave you? LOL not the brightest spark there are we Tim?

being a teacher is complicated and difficult and that's why you don't do it anymore. you couldn't handle it because you are simpleminded and weak.

it is and I did do it for two years
I'm not up to it right now, life happens, something you don;t know about maks
but I'll be back there with tree berries bouncing off my head as I sit slumped with my head in my hands at the desk at the front of the class.... fun times.
Yeah but nah... I care about it and kids unlike you people are generally blameless, their fuckhead adult parents are usually just taller hairier and scarier versions of their kids... meetings with local police about some poor kid's parents is not uncommon. Their kids desrve a chance
I do tend to favor some of the naughty kids just because no-one else will and sometimes they'll be good just for you if you give them half a chance... also I was a terror when I was a teenager at school, I'm there for my comeuppance.
No I have never done anything wrong while teaching... worst I ever did was call one 15 year old girl a "b..... bitch"... she was shoving me though... mind you calling her a bitch is not the textbook way to deal with that... I had to go get another teacher to help me with that as after I called her "a bitch" she started yelling that she was going to have me fired... it was actually having to deal with her parents (which were a bit full on) that was going to be the worry there... I got another more experienced teacher and had a meeting with her, had to appologise for calling her a bitch and explain that no staff should ever speak to her like that so that I was wrong but there was still the matter of her bahviour in the class to deal with and so that is why I brought another teacher in.
And that, and accidently stepping on a primary school kid who was sitting on the floor behind me and when I did I exclaimed, "SHIT!"..... but I glossed over the swear word I slipped quickly and the kid was ok.
So really that's the worst I've done... sworn twice, once calling a student a "b....bitch"...s ee I nearly stopped myself but the word just insisted on comming out of my mouth as she was shoving me (generally most students are taller than me lol)

um no
there is often not even any curriculum, only the state standards for which the teacher to create a unit around
I mean you morons
in your teaching degree you are required to create many units, you get graded on that then and either pass or fail
after you are a teacher it's your responsibilty, as far as "curriculum" goes... in English there might be a set book to read but the unit is still created by the teacher... in victoria your units need to meet the VELS standards
you can look that up yourself instead of making an idiot of yourself trying to talk about how teaching works when you clearly have no idea.

it's irrelevant what teachers do clump because you couldn't handle the job and lost it after two years. you went on to an exciting career ringing up bags of bird seed but apparently you couldn't handle that either and now you're living on the dole. what will it take to convince you that you're useless?

to give you an idea I have picked a state and looked up their department of education and the subset of curriculum oversight so you can't just scream about how I'm wrong:

the teacher creates the unit
the unit must meet the state's standards as the standards are what you actually mark the students on, on how well they have met the standards and so the unit you create must encompass all the standards, the work you create in the unit is created to test and mark the students on the standards, I don't think you even understand what curriculum is, curriculum is not whole whole units created by the state, the curriculum is simply the standards for each subjects that the students must meet to pass... the teacher created the unit to fit those standards

ugh see this is why I provided a link. here is a copy and paste from that website I sent you:
"The Office of College and Career Readiness-curriculum services section provides professional services related to the development and implementation of improved curricula in the schools of the state. The unit engages in a broad range of activities including: the preparation and dissemination of curricular materials; inservice training for professional staff members in curriculum development and in specific subject areas; and consultative assistance in solving instructional problems."

yeah I only spent years at university creating units to fit standards and then actually taught as a qualified teacher for two years
what would I know

http://vels.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vels/index.html
these are the standards that in victoria the units you create must meet
it is the same in other states only the standards are not called "VELS" but called something else... depending on the stateLast edited by LISAAAAAAAAAAH!; 11-15-2012 at 09:46 PM.

why would you try to look like an idiot in arguing with an actual teacher about this?
My links will be much more informative than anything you can link and clearly do not even understand

I was just trying to explain the difference between your Australian style and the way we do it here in America, but thanks for turning everything into an argument. You must be filled with hate in your heart.
